It’s time again for another update to Adventurer’s Codex and whoo-boy has this one been a long time coming. Today we’re please to announce that the DM tools now allow you to include an encounter goal, mark encounters as complete, and allow for the sorting of encounters by name or completion status!
Goal-Driven Adventures
As a DM, your adventure might be broken into several encounters, each of which is intended to result in some outcome. The players might get an item, learn a clue, or defeat a monster, perhaps. These encounter-wide goals are the target for the first of these new features and allow you to explicitly specify the goal of an encounter. This goal is then easily visible in the top of the encounter section menu.
Mark As Complete
Now that you have the ability to specify a goal for a given encounter, we’ve also added the ability for you to mark the goal as completed. Simply click “Mark as Complete” to do so, or you can set (or unset) the value in the edit section for the encounter by clicking the Edit icon.
Checking this box also records the time and date that the encounter was completed so that you can refer to that later. The completion status is also shown in the little circle icon on the left-most column of the encounter list for easy reference.
Sorting Encounters
However, now that we have this data, we can use it for sorting! Encounters can now be sorted by two different criteria: the encounter name, and the completion status. This makes it trivial to sort by and see what encounters you’ve completed and order them as you’d like for easy reference.
