Adventurers, it has been almost a year since we set out on the Quest for Cloud Syncing. Wether you’ve been a follower from the start or a recent member, chances are that you’ve heard of Cloud Syncing. It took us a year of working hard while trying to keep our professional and personal lives afloat. Alas, you are not here to hear about the woes of our journey, for you seek the glory and power held within Cloud Syncing. I will not stall you any longer. Ahead of you lies everything you need to know to get started as a Beta Tester for Adventurer’s Codex Cloud Syncing.
How can I help?
Thank you for your interest in helping us test Cloud Syncing. To begin testing, simply head over to our Beta Testing Site and create a new account. You may re-use the same email from the regular site. These accounts and all data will remain on the Beta Testing site.
Once logged in, you can import your campaign and character data from the regular site via exported files or Dropbox. For specific instructions on how to import or export, please take a look at our FAQ. Another option, is to create a new character or campaign on the Beta Testing site exactly the same way as the regular site.
What changed with Cloud Syncing?
Cloud Syncing brought with it more than just syncing your data to your account. Here’s a brief list of other changes:
- Input validation
- This update was necessary to ensure that everyone’s data is submitted in a clean, supported format.
- UI Improvements
- Other Stats
- Hit Dice
- Preview tab on modals
- Campaign Overview
- Removed export button
- Many more!
How do I report bugs?
If you think you have found a bug or unexpected behavior while using the Beta site, please send us an email at email@example.com with the subject Beta Bug Report.
When sending a bug report, please try to provide the following information:
- Description of issue
- Steps to reproduce issue
First and foremost, THANK YOU! Any amount of testing contributed will yield invaluable data to us, and this will lead to a more stable release for all your fellow adventurers.
Secondly, all data put into the Beta site will stay on the Beta site. There is no export to file or Dropbox, so all of your data will stay on the Beta site. Keep this in mind as you test Cloud Syncing on the Beta Site.
